Sophie Streisand
I am a research engineer and scientist in training in the School of Engineering (Jack Baskineer) on the most beautiful, innovative, creative and intellectually stimulating campus in the University of California system. I am proud to be a member of the Computer Vision and Assistive Technology Lab under the direct supervision of Dr. Manduchi in the Computer Engineering Department. In our research, we aim to facilitate the use of Assistive technologies, improve design, awareness and access for blind and visually impaired persons. I am also proud to have been a part of the Biomedical/Biomolecular engineering and Bioinformatics group whose interdisciplinary and multi-departmental focus, research and faculty undeniably shaped the way I approach and analyze critical problems and solutions in science and engineering.
